The No. 16 Virginia Tech Hokies will celebrate Homecoming Weekend (60-19-4 all-time on homecoming) against the struggling 1-5 Boston College Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

Virginia Tech is coming off a 38-17 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, with junior running back David Wilson gaining 138 yards and a touchdown. For Wilson, who ranks fifth in the nation with 129 yards per game, it was his sixth 100-yard game of the season. Wilson is just 97 yards away from topping 1,000 yards on the season. Frank Beamer's defense is allowing fewer than 300 yards of total offense per game. Linebacker Bruce Taylor leads the unit with 51 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for a loss and three quarterback sacks, while redshirt sophomore defensive end J.R. Collins has a team-high six quarterback sacks.

The Eagles are coming off a 22-point loss to the eighth-ranked Clemson Tigers, unable to recover after falling behind by 17 points in the first quarter. Sophomore quarterback Chase Rettig continues to progress while running backs Andre Williams and Rolandan Finch have picked up the offensive slack created by an injury to Montel Harris, the school's all-time leading rusher. All-American linebacker Luke Kuechly will be tasked with stopping Wilson. Kuechly leads the nation in tackles, posting 99 on the season, or 16.5 per game, with 7.5 tackles for a loss and an interception.
