Washington Huskies running back Chris Polk has shredded Stanford thus far, rushing for 116 yards on just five carries thus far. But the Huskies still trail the Stanford Cardinal, 24-14, thanks in large part to a defense that’s been less than spectacular. Full game coverage and discussion can be found here.
Stanford Vs. Washington: Chris Polk Keeping Huskies Close, Cardinal Keep Answering
Polk’s line includes touchdown runs of 61 and 46 yards, both of which included multiple broken tackles along the way. Keith Price has 41 yards on 7-9 passing, but has settled for short routes early against the Cardinal. With Polk running as he is, Price hasn’t had to do a whole lot through a little over a quarter, though.
Of course, right after Polk’s 61-yard run, Stepfan Taylor ripped off a 70-yard run of his own, immediately answering the Huskies’ score. Andrew Luck has 85 yards and a touchdown through the air, with Stanford driving pretty much at will on the Huskies through the first quarter and the beginning of the second.
At this point, it looks like a race to 60 as the Cardinal lead the Huskies, 24-14.
