It took the TCU Horned Frogs all of 45 seconds to find the end zone on Thursday night as they squared off against the BYU Cougars at Cowboys Stadium. And if the first five minutes were any indication, TCU was off to the races, poised to blow out BYU in a generously labeled neutral site game. But down 14-0, BYU came storming back, and midway through the second quarter we have a game on our hands.
BYU Vs. TCU Score Update: Cougars Climb Back After Falling In Early Hole
If not for BYU putting the special in special teams, the Cougars might actually be leading right now. But this happened as the Cougars tried to punt early in the first quarter, and TCU took advantage by punching in the touchdown. BYU just uncorked a 23-yard punt, and may just elect to go for it on first down the rest of the game if this keeps up.
Trailing 14-0, BYU scored the next 10 points of the game, seven of which came on a Riley Nelson touchdown pass to Michael Alisa. However, the 23-yard punt came back to haunt the Cougars, just as the adventure early in the first quarter did, as Matt Brown scored from two yards out to cap a three-play, 37 yard scoring drive.
Midway through the second quarter, TCU leads BYU in Dallas, 21-10.
