Iowa Vs. Minnesota Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More

5-2 Iowa will travel to Minneapolis to, let’s be honest, probably beat the 1-6 Golden Gophers. Sorry, Minnesotans.

The 5-2 (2-1 in Big 10) Iowa Hawkeyes will face their second consecutive Big 10 bottom feeder when they travel to the Land of 10,000 Lakes to face the 1-6 (0-3) Minnesota Golden Gophers (3:30 pm ET, Big Ten Network; rumble here for Iowa-Minnesota score updates and here for college football stories from around the country).

The Hawkeyes' strength, as usual, lies in their offensive line. Anchored by left tackle Riley Reiff, the line has opened up all kinds of holes for running back Marcus Coker, who has exploited them for more than 100 yards a game and eight touchdowns. The passing game has also been pleasantly above average, with the connection of James Vandenberg and Marvin McNutt, the Hawkeyes' all-time leader in receiving touchdowns, providing potential for a big play at any moment.

The Golden Gophers, are, um, not as good. They rank 110th in scoring offense and 115th in scoring defense this year, which is exactly how a team gets to 1-6, losing to New Mexico State and North Dakota State in the process. If they somehow find a way to upset the Hawkeyes, it would be an even bigger upset than Appalachian State over Michigan, because that App State team would have totally beaten New Mexico State and North Dakota State.

Game date, time: 3:30 pm ET, Saturday, October 29

Location: TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minn.

TV channel: Big Ten Network

Spread: Iowa favored by 15

Series history: Minnesota leads, 59-42
