Florida Vs. Georgia Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More

Florida takes on No. 22 Georgia in the annual installment of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

It’s the last Saturday in October, which means it’s time for The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, or, as those corporate suits want you to call it, The Florida vs. Georgia Football Classic (3:30 pm ET, CBS; teeter here for Cocktail Party score updates and here for college football stories from around the country). Those suits don’t want you to have any fun. Damn suits!

This year, the Party doesn’t hold the national title implications it has in years past because Florida is simply mediocre. The 4-3 Gators have had a great defense this year, holding opponents to just 18.9 points per game, but their 100th-ranked passing offense has prevented the defense from carrying them to wins against stiff competition. Though the Gators started 4-0, they’ve lost their past three games to Alabama, LSU and Auburn.

No. 22 Georgia's season has taken an opposite course. After losing their first two games to Boise State and South Carolina, the Bulldogs have rattled off five straight wins against lesser opponents, using the weak competition to propel themselves into the BCS Standings. Sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray has impressed — he's got a 16-to-7 TD to interception ratio — but to legitimize themselves, the Bulldogs need to beat a challenging opponent like Florida.

Game date, time: 3:30 pm ET, Saturday, October 29

Location: Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, Jacksonville, Fla.

TV channel: CBS

Spread: Georgia favored by 1.5

Series history: Georgia leads, 47-40
