For the ninth time since 1990, and for the eighth straight season, the Virginia Tech Hokies and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will meet on Thursday night in Atlanta. This will also be the fourth Thursday night meeting between the two schools.

No. 10 Virginia Tech and No. 20 Georgia Tech meet in a ACC Coastal Division clash on Thursday night.


No. 10 Virginia Tech and No. 20 Georgia Tech have combined to win each of the last six ACC Coastal Division titles, with the Hokies wining the division in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010 and the Yellow Jackets doing so in 2007 and 2009.
The Hokies won last year’s game when sophomore running back David Wilson returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown to give Virginia Tech a 28-21 lead. Now a junior, Wilson is third in the nation and leads the ACC in rushing, averaging 131.8 yards per game.
Georgia Tech has the nation's No. 2-ranked rushing offense, averaging nearly 330 yards on the ground per game. Quaterback Tevin Washington broke a school-record with 176 rushing yards in an October 29 win over the Clemson Tigers. Virginia Tech has country's fifth-ranked run defense, allowing less than 90 yards per game.
