Jevan Snead Arrested For DUI In Oxford, According To Report

Ole Miss football has not had a good month, and, according to a report, neither has former quarterback Jevan Snead.

Former Mississippi Rebels quarterback Jevan Snead was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Oxford, according to the Oxford Eagle's Patrick Ochs. He was reportedly pulled over after failing to properly observe a stop sign at 1:50 in the morning, then released from Lafayette County Detention Center about five hours later.

Snead led the Rebels to an upset of Texas Tech in the 2009 Cotton Bowl and a subsequent preseason No. 8 ranking in the AP Top 25. He entered the year projected as a top-10 NFL Draft pick, but struggled as a junior, throwing 20 interceptions. He wound up going undrafted, catching on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a spell before joining the AFL’s Tampa Bay Storm.

A former Parade All-American out of high school in Texas, he transferred to Ole Miss from the Texas Longhorns after he wasn't able to beat Colt McCoy for that starting job.

In two years as the Rebels starter, he threw for more than 5,000 yards and 46 touchdowns, but he’s been remembered mostly for a disappointing final year and challenged pro career.
