Will Lowery Injury: Alabama Safety ‘Done’ After ACL Tear

Getty Images

Alabama Crimson Tide safety Will Lowery is finished for the season after suffering an ACL tear, Lowery himself announced via Twitter on Sunday:

Will Lowery@jwlowery29 Just did my MRI.. my ACL is torn, I am done. It was a great run, and I look forward to helping this team finish this thing off right in NOLA

Nick Saban confirmed the injury results, adding that Lowery will need surgery and that he “has been a very good player for us and an outstanding person in terms of his contributions to the team and the program.”

Lowery ranked sixth among Bama’s defensive backs in tackles, playing in every game this season. He’s listed as a junior on Alabama’s official roster, meaning he should be able to make it back in time for his senior season, though he lists himself as a senior on his Twitter profile. A forward-thinking young man, it appears.
