Tennessee Vs. Kentucky Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More

Tennessee is fighting to become bowl eligible against Kentucky

Technically, the Tennessee Volunteers and Kentucky Wildcats are rivals. It usually works out that the Wildcats are leaps and bounds better at basketball, while the same can be said for Tennessee and football. Hey, that never stopped Missouri and Kansas from vehemently hating each other! Having said that, these are legitimate rivals this year, as both sit at 1-6 in the SEC. This is the last game of Kentucky's season, but Tennessee managed to win one more non-conference game than the Wildcats, and they are bowl eligible if they win.

The Vols have quarterback Tyler Bray back, but he didn't have the greatest return last week. Tennessee Volunteers blog Rocky Top Talk expects him to perform better against Kentucky.

We can easily forgive Bray for his two costly interceptions last week; we were so happy to see him for one, and there were five weeks of rust to account for as well. I would still argue that it was better for the Vols to win the way they did anyway, slaying a number of demons that would’ve otherwise stayed alive had Bray not thrown that pick six and Tennessee kept Vandy at a safe distance.

It was the first time Bray completed less than 50% of his passes (just barely, at 16 of 33) in a game he started. With the rust knocked off and his thumb a week stronger, expect fewer mistakes and more big plays from Bray.

Bray seems poised to shake off last week's rust and have a big game, but Kentucky Wildcats blog A Sea Of Blue is just as concerned about Tennessee's ability to run the ball with Tauren Poole.

When running the ball, UT will go with 5’10” 215-pound senior Tauren Poole. On the year, Poole has rushed for 661 yards and five touchdowns on 178 carries (3.7 yards per carry). Poole will also catch the ball out of the backfield, evidenced by his 18 receptions for 152 yards (8.4 ypr). The Tennessee tailback is a bullish runner between the tackles, but has the speed to get to the edges.
