Michigan State Vs. Minnesota Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More

Michigan State is coming off a tough stretch and now has to avoid a potential “trap game” against Minnesota.

Coming into this game with mirror-image records, it’s not hard to see why Michigan State (6-2) is a huge favorite over Big Ten rival Minnesota (2-6). But it might not be so simple. The Spartans are coming off a torrid stretch that culminated with a loss to No. 13 Nebraska, while the Gophers are coming off a win against Iowa which has the folks at The Daily Gopher feeling pretty good:

Minnesota didn’t dominate Iowa, and they certainly didn’t outplay them from start to finish. But they FINALLY caught some breaks, hung around, and outplayed them when it mattered. That’s what I expected to see from a Jerry Kill team, and we finally saw it. We knew Minnesota wouldn’t be the most talented team on most days, but the hope was Kill and his staff would have the guys playing hard, playing smart, and that would keep them in position to steal a game or two.

Aside from all that anecdotal stuff, though, it’s hard to see how Minnesota makes a game of this one. The Gophers are being outscored by an average of 34.0-18.0, while the Spartans are outscoring their opponents by an average of 26.0-15.0. The Spartans are 5-0 at home, while the Gophers are 0-3 on the road.

Game date, time: Noon ET, Saturday, Nov. 5

Location: Spartan Stadium, East Lansing, Mich.

TV channel: Big Ten Network

Spread: Michigan State favored by 27.5

Series history: Michigan State leads 26-17
