Florida Vs. Vanderbilt Halftime Score: Gators Shutting Out Commodores At Home

Florida is home in Gainesville this Saturday after almost a month away from The Swamp, and the home field is treating the Gators a little better than the road did. Florida’s up 17-0 on Vanderbilt at halftime.

Florida's offense is without leading rusher and receiver Chris Rainey, who sustained an ankle injury last week against Georgia, but the Gators haven't had much problem moving the ball, rolling up 277 yards in the first half. John Brantley's thrown for 140 yards, Jeff Demps has run for 65 yards and a touchdown, and Jacoby Brissett threw the longest pass of the day and scored Florida's second touchdown on a quarterback sneak.

The Gators' defense is shutting down Vanderbilt, too, allowing just two first down conversions and fewer than three yards per carry. Sharrif Floyd blocked Vanderbilt's lone field goal attempt, and six Commodores penalties have also gummed up the works.
