North Carolina’s already struggling against North Carolina State, and now the Tar Heels will have to make do without their starting quarterback. Bryn Renner headed to the locker room with a left shoulder injury in the first half, and may not return.
Bryn Renner Injury: North Carolina Quarterback Leaves Game With Shoulder Problem
Renner had been struggling before his injury, completing just five of 12 passes for 27 yards in a half that saw Carolina rack up a whopping 32 yards. But he’s been good for North Carolina during the 2011 season, throwing for 2,195 yards and 19 touchdowns heading into Week 10 action. And today’s inaccuracy, in particular, is aberrational: Renner was completing more than 72 percent of his passes entering the day.
Renner has been replaced by Braden Hanson.
