Florida Vs. Vanderbilt Final Score: Gators Survive Commodores, 26-21

Once again in 2011, Florida dealt with a disastrous second half. But this time, the Gators had enough to hold on. Barely.

Jeff Demps' 52-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter gave the Gators a 12-point lead, and Jordan Reed snagged an onside kick with little more than a minute left to seal Florida's 26-21 victory, its first since September. But Vanderbilt's loss was valiant at worst.

The Commodores aerated Florida's secondary behind Jordan Rodgers, who threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns, and Jordan Matthews, who caught nine passes for 164 yards and a touchdown. And Vandy won the second half, scoring two touchdowns to Florida's TD and field goal, despite giving up Demps' late scoring run.

But penalties (12 for 106 yards) and that inopportune meltdown left Vanderbilt in a hole all day, and their failure on the onside kick sealed the ‘Dores’ fate.

Demps ran for a career-high 158 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. John Brantley threw for 173 yards for the Gators, but was spelled late by Jacoby Brissett, who made plays in his limited action.
