Georgia was without most of its running game against New Mexico State. Fortunately, New Mexico State did not choose this Saturday to channel the spirit of a good football team. The Bulldogs rolled up 42 second quarter points and cruised to a 63-16 victory.

Aaron Murray threw for 238 yards and five touchdown passes — all five coming over an eight-minute stretch in the second quarter — to pace Georgia. And Georgia rolled up 258 rushing yards, too; Isaiah Crowell, suspended after a violation of team rules, was clearly not missed all that much.
The Bulldogs allowed New Mexico State to throw for 276 yards, too, but most of that came in the second half, with the game fully in hand. Both of the Aggies’ touchdowns came in the fourth quarter.
