LSU Vs. Alabama 2011 Update: Crimson Tide Retake Lead In Third

The LSU Tigers started the third quarter with the ball and with Jordan Jefferson again under center. Before the kickoff, Les Miles said Jarrett Lee would be back on the field at some point in the half, but Jefferson's speed made him the better option at times. Jefferson rushed for seven yards to achieve a first down as if to prove the point.

For live Alabama-LSU score updates and conversation, head right here.

Not much after that, though. Jefferson looked about as hard to bring down as Ben Roethlisberger at one point, fighting off two rushers to salvage a minimal loss from a likely sack.

But the Tide defense was ultimately too much, and LSU showed its first significant crack of the night: a bad Brad Wing punt. If they don't have a special teams advantage, what do the Tigers really have?

They have a good defense, is what they have! LSU forced the Alabama Crimson Tide into their first punt of the night. Three points in 35 minutes, and only one punt, y'all.

Lee retook the field, immediately throwing his second pick, this time to Mark Barron. Oh me.

LSU's defense is still good, though. They were able to hold Alabama to another three-and-out, requiring Cade Foster's services. Foster missed his first two field goals from similar distances, but deposited the 46-yarder to make it 6-3.
