The Boise State Broncos were likely hoping that the Week 11 AP Poll and the Week 11 USA Today coaches poll would put them one spot closer to a BCS National Championship Game. That didn’t happen.
College Football Rankings: Boise State Scraping For Hope In Week 11 Polls
Despite Alabama’s loss, the Crimson Tide only fell to No. 4 in both polls, one spot ahead of Boise State, which remained at No. 5 in both the AP and USA Today polls for Week 11.
That’s bad for the Broncos: if their undefeated record isn’t enough to move them past a one-loss Alabama team now, it probably won’t be enough to do anything for the Broncos at the end of the season. At least there’s still one AP Poll voter giving Boise a first-place vote.
And, of course, it could be worse: Houston is undefeated, too, and the only other non-BCS team without a loss, and the Cougars are No. 11 in both polls, still hoping for their first top-10 ranking of the year.
