Texas Tech TE Adam James is nearing the end of his college career and for many, it can't come soon enough. He'll be remembered less for what he did on the field and more for the firestorm that led to Mike Leach's firing and has since rallied an entire generation of college football fans to despise his father, and to a lesser extent, him.
Adam James Wants To ‘Shed’ Your Perception Of Him
In his first interview since 2009, the younger James finally speaks on the negative reaction he’s received from the media and fans in the wake of the scandal.
"I would say everybody has their opinion, and if that's their opinion of me, that's unfortunate," James said. "But I think if you were to go ask any of my teammates now, any of my coaches now, it would be a completely different response."
James expects a mixed reaction on Senior Day when his name is announced. (Papa Craig will be working another game and won’t attend, which is probably for the best).
"They'll be people cheering and there'll be people booing," he said. "And the people cheering, that's great, and the people booing, like I said, I wish they take the opportunity to get to know me."
Perhaps those people booing just aren’t sure which PR firm to contact in order to discuss the matter with James.
