Tommy Schutt Makes It Official: He’s A Buckeye

Per SB Nation Philly:

Tommy Schutt, a five-star defensive tackle from Illinois in the Class of 2012, originally committed to Penn State during the summer of 2011. According a report (via Allen Trieu’s Twitter), Schutt has now decommitted from Penn State and committed to Ohio State. The Buckeyes were high on Schutt’s list during the beginning of his recruitment. He had backed off when Jim Tressel was fired. Schutt eventually committed to Penn State after a visit. Once the Jerry Sandusky scandal broke, Schutt said he would wait to see how the situation developed.

This was entirely expected, as I touched on this morning.

With Penn State’s recruiting on the back burner while the search for a head coaching willing to take over that situation creeps on, look for Ohio State and other regional schools to take the top players in Pennsylvania.
