LaMichael James Will Declare For 2012 NFL Draft, According To Report

LaMichael James will reportedly declare for the 2012 NFL Draft, forgoing his senior season.

It's not a surprise, but LaMichael James will reportedly declare for the 2012 NFL Draft, forgoing the rest of his collegiate eligibility. Despite suffering a gruesome elbow injury this season, James rewrote the record books at Oregon this season, setting school marks for career rushing yards and touchdowns. And he did it all in three seasons.

The news comes from The Oregonian.

A source inside the Oregon football program has confirmed to The Oregonian today what has long been expected, that the Ducks’ all-time leading rusher will declare for the NFL draft after this season.
James, who also tops Oregon’s career marks in rushing touchdowns and scoring, will play his final game as a Duck on Jan. 2 against Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.

James’ size has always been a talking point, despite his huge numbers at Oregon. He’ll likely continue to hear questions about his height and weight as he prepares for the draft, but his speed and big-play ability are undeniable.

Mocking the Draft also has two links of note on James.

We currently have James rated as the fifth-best running back eligible for the draft. Read some prospect notes on him here.
