The UW-Whitewater Warhawks won their fourth Division III National Championship in the past seven years by downing the Mount Union Raiders, for the fourth time in seven years. The two teams have played each other int he Championship game for the past seven seasons. The Warhawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead that they took into halftime. In the third quarter, Levell Coppage punched the ball in from 1-yard out to take a 10-0 lead.

Mount Union battled back however, getting a field goal early in the fourth quarter to cut into the lead. UW-Whitewater picked up another field goal to push their lead to 13-0 in the fourth, but the Raiders put the game within reach thanks to an 8-yard touchdown pass from Matt Piloto pass to A.J. Claycomb. The Raiders got the ball back with just under two minutes left in the game, but the drive fell short on fourth down as UW-Whitewater hung on to win the Division III National Title.
UW-Whitewater won its third-straight title with its 45th consecutive win, downing fellow Division III power Mount Union, 13-10.
