Cornerback Recruit Travell Dixon Set To Decide Between Alabama, FSU And Mississippi State

One team will land the nation’s top JUCO corner this Wednesday.

Travell Dixon, one of the top junior college cornerbacks in the country, is set to make his college choice on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Dixon will pick from three finalists: Alabama, Florida State and Mississippi State. Some thought Dixon would choose Miami, as the Hurricanes are desperate at cornerback and he’d be all but guaranteed a starting job, but something seems to have scared Dixon off from Coral Gables.

Dixon won’t be guaranteed a starting position with the Crimson Tide, Seminoles or Bulldogs, but he will have a great chance to compete for one.

A 6’2”, 200-pound cornerback is rare indeed. Dixon’s abilities are readily apparent in the highlight film below. He can play press coverage and physically bully opposing receivers. That’s standard for a corner this size, but what makes Dixon special is his ability to turn and run after the initial bullying. Dixon’s instincts look good as well.

Make sure to check back on Wednesday for Dixon’s decision.
