As he prepares to face the Virginia Tech Hokies in the 2012 Sugar Bowl, Michigan Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson says he grew up idolizing former Hokies quarterback Michael Vick, Kyle Meinke of AnnArbor.com reports.

“It looked like he was playing against little kids,” Robinson said. “He was a man amongst little kids, it seemed. I rooted for him.”
Like Vick, Robinson is a dangerous, elusive runner who ran for 1,163 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2011, ranking 28th in the nation with a 96.9-yard per game average. A lengthy list of mobile quarterbacks that have passed through Blacksburg during head coach Frank Beamer’s tenure could help them prepare for Robinson.
“The highlights I’ve seen, (Robinson) can go,” Beamer said earlier this month. “Us having that type of guy gives us some experience, but it all goes back to the players being able to tackle the guy when you get him there.”
The Hokies defense ranked 17th against the run this season, allowing 107.7 yards per game on the ground.
