The Oregon Ducks have wrapped up their pre-Rose Bowl practices in Eugene and have headed home for the holidays, Rob Moseley of The Register-Guard reports.
Rose Bowl 2012: Oregon Break For The Holidays
Players and coaches will reconvene in Pasadena, California next Monday. Head coach Chip Kelly, a New Hampshire native, was unsure of his holiday travel plans, which are dependent upon weather forecasts.
“I’m looking at the weather,” Kelly said. “I can’t get stuck back there, so I’ve waited.”
Meanwhile, Wisconsin Badgers center Peter Konz has flown to Charlotte, North Carolina to meet with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Anderson about a dislocated left ankle that kept the junior out of the last three games of the regular season.
Konz, who is considering entering the 2012 NFL Draft, is optimistic he’ll play against the Ducks on January 2, Jeffrey Potrykus of the Journal-Sentinel reports.
“I’m very optimistic, especially where I’m at right now,” said Konz. “If I hadn’t been on the field this week I would be questioning myself. But because every day we’re doing a little bit more, that gives me hope.”
