Sugar Bowl 2012: Denard Robinson To Petition NFL Draft Advisory Board

Michigan Wolverines junior quarterback Denard Robinson will petition the NFL's Draft Advisory Board for feedback on where he would be selected if he entered the 2012 NFL Draft, Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The 6-foot-1, 193-pound Robinson completed 56.1 percent of 237 pass attempts for 2,056 yards with 18 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, but his running ability was the focal point of the Wolverines offense. Robinson led the Wolverines with 1,163 yards and 16 touchdowns rushing and his 96.9 yards per game ranked 28th in the nation. During his college career, Robinson has passed for 4,814 yards with 38 touchdowns and 29 interceptions and has 3,216 yards and 35 touchdowns rushing.

Though confident he’ll have his quarterback in the fold for 2012, Michigan head coach Brady Hoke supports Robinson’s inquiry.

“We’ve talked about it, and I think it’s smart to get an idea,” Hoke said. “I expect him to be back here, but we’ll find out what happens. I’m not going to live in hypotheticals, but when we get the information we need, we’ll proceed like we should.”
