Now that the Penn St. Nittany Lions' reported flight of fancy with Boise St. Broncos coach Chris Petersen is over, attention turns back to a candidate whose name has popped up all throughout: Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak. As the Patriot-News' David Jones notes, Munchak's become the talk of certain moneyed parts of the town:
Mike Munchak Returns To Top Of Penn State Coach Wish List, According To Report
Mike Munchak is the next coach on Penn State’s candidates list, according to booster chatter.

@djoneshoop Donor-types buzzing as if Munchak is done deal. Heard same thg 2 wks ago. Blv it when he's on a podium in S.C.
Munchak has previously denied interest.
He played at Penn State before being drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1982. Ever since then, he’s been a part of the same franchise, retiring as a player in 1993 and immediately taking on a coaching role. He took over as offensive line coach when the team moved to Tennessee and was named head coach in 2011. A Paterno-esque tenure, and he has ties to PSU, but that’s about all there is to go on at this point.
