Cotton Bowl 2012: Arkansas Could Really Use A Bowl Victory

The 2012 Cotton Bowl will be the 39th bowl appearance for the Arkansas Razorbacks, who take on the Kansas St. Wildcats. While Arkansas has found major success in recent seasons and has a solid history of bowl game appearances, it's season-ending wins that seem to be lacking (via ArkansasSports360.com):

If Arkansas manages to beat Kansas State in the AT&T Cotton Bowl on Jan. 6, the Razorback football program will still need 10 additional wins in a row to reach a .500 win percentage in bowl game victories.

Such a statistic standing 12-23-3 all-time in post-season bowls — is unheard of not just among among the college football elite, but for anyone fancying themselves as a Top 25 power.

To put it in even starker perspective, Arkansas is 4-14 in bowl games since 1982.

If they truly want to be considered among the elite programs in the SEC and the nation, the Raorbacks need to start winning games in December and January. A Cotton Bowl victory here would be a good start.
