Michael Dyer To Arkansas State Rumors Appear To Have Substance

Michael Dyer hasn’t officially transferred from Auburn to Gus Malzahn’s Arkansas State, but Red Wolves players are already welcoming him aboard.

Auburn Tigers running back Michael Dyer, who was suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl just before offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn accepted the Arkansas St. Red Wolves coaching job, has been the subject of connect-the-dots transfer rumors for a spell now. He's a Little Rock native, so the story lined up.

And now we’ve seen multiple Arkansas State players congratulate Dyer on making the move to Jonesboro, including Artez Brown on Facebook and Ryan Wilbourn via Twitter.

Nothing official has been announced yet, but the onboarding of the player who was essentially Auburn’s entire 2011 offense would be quite a haul for Malzahn. Ranking No. 21 in the nation in rushing yardage, he put up more yards than any other player on the team -- including quarterbacks and kick returners.

Dyer was named first-team All-SEC a year after making the signature play of the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.
