Pitt Vs. Syracuse Final Score: Panthers Are Bowl Eligible With Win Over Orange

The Pitt Panthers finished their season with a home win over Syracuse on Saturday afternoon, bringing their record to a bowl eligible 6-6. With Syracuse down six and looking to take the lead, a late fourth quarter defensive touchdown would ice the game for the Panthers. 'Cuse quarterback Ryan Nassib was sacked by Brandon Lindsey. The ball was jarred loose by Lindsey and Antwuan Reed scooped it up and took it 20 yards for the 33-20 lead.

Pitt struggled to get much going on the ground, but Tino Sunseri bounced back from an awful game against West Virginia, completing 25 passes for 259 yards. Kicker Kevin Harper added four field goals to help secure the win.

Under Doug Marrone, the Orange needed a win to head to back-to-back bowl games for the first time in over a decade. Instead, it was first year Pitt coach Todd Graham and the Panthers who secured their sixth win of the season and will head to a bowl.
