It hasn't been a perfect Heisman closing statement by Robert Griffin III, but he's still trying to make the case as best he can as the first half of Baylor's game against Texas comes to a close. RG3 is 5-of-10 passing for 132 yards and a touchdown, though he's also thrown an interception in the end zone that could have given the Bears a lead.
Texas Vs. Baylor Halftime: Mixed Day For Robert Griffin III, But Baylor Has The Lead For Now
But Griffin bounced back from that and plowed into the end zone from the Texas 2 on Baylor’s next “drive,” which started on that yard line after an interception thrown by Texas’ Case McCoy. Back on the negative side, Griffin only has eight yards rushing on seven attempts. Oh, and there’s a score in this game, which is currently 24-21 in the Bears’ favor.
If Griffin's had trouble making room on the ground against the Texas defense, Terrance Ganaway has not, picking up 71 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
Aside from the turnovers, McCoy has actually had a pretty decent half, going 11-of-18 for 232 yards and all three of Texas’ touchdowns. And six Longhorns have run for 107 yards on 27 carries.
