Sun Bowl 2011, Georgia Tech Vs. Utah: Time, TV Schedule, Odds And More

Georgia Tech tries to snap a six game losing streak in bowl games as they face the Utah Utes in the 2011 Sun Bowl.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are heading to their fifteenth consecutive bowl game, but they've also lost their past six bowl games. The Yellow Jackets will try to snap that streak against the Utah Utes in the Sun Bowl as head coach Paul Johnson brings his triple option attack. "It's something no one here has done," said defensive end Jason Peters. "No one here has won a bowl game. It would be an exciting thing for us to go do. It would be a chance to do better with something that we know has been plaguing Georgia Tech for a long time." Georgia Tech is third in the NCAA rushing the football, averaging 316 rushing yards per game and average nearly 35 points per game.

The Utah Utes, like Georgia Tech, have a sting of consecutive bowl game appearances of their own. "We're proud that yet another Utah senior class will be playing in its fourth postseason game, and that is a testament to the commitment our players bring to the program year in and year out." head coach Kyle Whittingham said. This will be Utah's first bowl game as a member of the Pac-12, however. They'll need to rely on back up quarterback Jon Hays to hand Georgia Tech it's seventh consecutive bowl loss.

Game date, time: 2:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, December 31st

Location: Sun Bowl, El Paso, TX

TV channel: CBS

Odds: Georgia Tech favored by 3.5
