Sugar Bowl 2012: Michigan Favored By Field Goal Over Virginia Tech

The Michigan Wolverines opened as just one-point favorites over the Virginia Tech Hokies when the pairing was announced for the 2012 Sugar Bowl . Since then, the Hokies have lost not one, but two kickers to the follies of youth. Fittingly, the line in Las Vegas has moved to a three-point advantage for the Wolverines, or the cost of a missed field goal.

Michigan's tomfoolery apparently involves Gatorade and hanging out with cops. So far, they have managed to stay out of trouble better than the Hokies, and remain relatively healthy except for some depth concerns on the defensive line. The Hokies don't appear to have any injury concerns, though there is no doubt that the losses of Cody Journell and Tyler Weiss are significant. Expect kickoff specialist Justin Myer to get first crack at field goal duties. He has two tries this season, both misses.
