According to Chip Patterson of CBS Sports, sources have indicated that the Virginia Tech Hokies will accept an offer to attend the Chick-fil-A Bowl following their 38-10 ACC Championship Game loss to Clemson. Their likely opponent will be the Auburn Tigers.
Chick-Fil-A Bowl 2011: Virginia Tech To Accept Bid, According To Report
Known for many years as The Peach Bowl, the Chick-fil-A Bowl has been played in Atlanta, Georgia since December 1968.
The 2011 edition takes place Saturday, December 31 at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN where Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge & Holly Rowe will announce the game.
Clemson and North Carolina State have each appeared in the game seven times while Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and North Carolina have all appeared five times. The game featured a match-up between an ACC team and SEC team more often than not.
Last year, Florida State topped South Carolina 26-17.
