Sugar Bowl Odds 2012: Michigan Slight Favorites Over Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Hokies somehow wound up with the Sugar Bowl bid, where they will take on the Michigan Wolverines.

The Sugar Bowl matchup is set, and the Michigan Wolverines are set to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on January 3rd at the Superdome in New Orleans. The Sugar Bowl is one of the oldest bowls in all of college football, and was first played on New Year's Day in 1935.

Odds makers have set the initial spread for the game, and the Michigan Wolverines are listed as 1 point favorites, according to SB Nation partner Oddshark. Meanwhile, 5Dtimes.com has the game as a pick ‘em with the money line at -110 in favor of Virginia Tech.

The over/under has not been set for the game at this point, but it should be interesting to see how odds makers weigh the high-scoring Michigan offense (34.2 points per game) against the usually strong Virginia Tech defense. Will Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson dazzle on the big stage, or will the Hokies shut down Michigan? Stay tuned to SB Nation for updates on the point spread, money line, and over/under for the Sugar Bowl.
