Sugar Bowl 2012 Update: Saints DC Gregg Williams Reunites With Hokie Son

Very few people outside of Blacksburg were excited to hear that the Virginia Tech Hokies had been invited to play in the 2012 Sugar Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines. New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was among the exceptions.

His son, Chase Williams, is a redshirt freshman linebacker for the Hokies and the two will get to spend some time together thanks to the selection. Chase plays mostly on special teams and has 10 tackles this year.

"I am fired up," Williams said. "I'm sure (former Saints safety Pierson Prioleau) will be coming into town. And I'll get to be the uncle and the dad and everybody that wants to come into town now because they really want to see Chase. They don't care about me."

For more on the Wolverines, be sure to head over to the SB Nation blog Maize ‘N Brew. Check out Gobbler Country for everything Hokies. Head over to the official site of the Allstate Sugar Bowl for more info on this year’s game.
