Nerdplay: Recomputing College Football Quarterback Ratings

Our smartypants Cal bloggers have recomputed college football’s quarterback ratings using a new formula created by an economist at Utah State. Unlike the NFL quarterback ratings equation, which they refer to as “one nasty, ugly, intimidating formula,” this one is short and sweet. Neither nasty nor intimidating, though it is ugly: The efficiency of Texas and Florida quarterbacks in 2010.
