Tate Forcier Begins Visiting Schools This Week, Starting With Miami

Ex-Michigan Wolverines QB Tate Forcier told ESPN’s Joe Schad that he has finalized his list of schools that he will consider transferring to, and that he will start making visits this week:

Forcier will begin visiting transfer choices Monday and has narrowed his options to Kansas State, Washington, Arizona, Miami and Montana.

Forcier is already on his way to visit Miami on Monday, with his next stop supposed to be Kansas State. Team systems and quarterback situations will be the ultimate factors in where Forcier ends up. He was supplanted at Michigan by Denard Robinson, a better fit to run the spread attack that Michigan ran, and of Forcier’s choices Montana is the only school that runs a true spread attack. However, the others each have spread elements.

If Forcier goes to Montana he can play right away, but if he goes to the other schools he will not be eligible to play until 2012, at which point he will have two years of eligibility left. Miami and Arizona will be looking for a new quarterback in 2012, while Washington and Kansas State will be looking for new starters in the fall of 2011.
