Ohio Bobcats Remember Marcellis Williamson, Establish Memorial Fund

The Athens, Ohio community remains in mourning today for the loss of former starting nose tackle Marcellis Williamson, who died Wednesday of unspecified causes just months after wrapping his final season of college football and earning his degree. The Ohio Bobcats' official website has posted an official statement from head coach Frank Solich:

Marcellis had a wonderful personality and was appreciated, not by just his football family, but by others on campus. He was an excellent football player whose ability to supply leadership to the program was respected by his teammates. He was devoted to being as good as he could be on the field, in the weight room and in the classroom. We offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family.

The university has also established a memorial fund to help the Williamson family with Marcellis’ funeral expenses. Donations can be made online, dropped off at any Dollar Bank location, or mailed to this address:
