Our retroactive congratulations to the University of Georgia for producing such a fine specimen of human as recent College Football Hall of Fame inductee Jake Scott. The former standout safety won a new generation of hearts with his casual verification of a hallowed campus legend: That he once rode a motorcycle over the roof of Stegeman Coliseum, UGA’s basketball and gymnastics arena.

”Well, you’ve got to call Brad Johnson [UGA running back, 1966-68] because he was the witness. That is an important question. It was an exciting ride. I had an old BSA. I went over the top. Going down the other side was tough. That’s when I got afraid.“If this sounds implausible, take a look at the Steg, which (pre-renovation, at least) is structurally begging for this sort of adventuring. Please also note that even a high-profile public figure will wait as long as possible after the fact to reveal evidence of any shenanigans where the hyper-vigilant Athens PD might hear.
