Storm Johnson wouldn't have been appearing in the Miami Hurricanes' season opener anyway, but he'll suit up this September for a different team altogether: The Orlando Sentinel has confirmed via Johnson's father that he intends to transfer to Central Florida.
Storm Johnson Transfer Destination: Central Florida
"Yes sir, Storm committed today and he will start classes on the 22nd," Wesley Johnson, Storm's father, confirmed via cell phone Friday night. "It actually feels quite good just to get the pressure off and be able to resume his college career. He starts off with a clean slate."
A four-star prospect out of Loganville, Georgia, the impeccably-named tailback (trivia: first name is Westleigh, a fact delivered to us by Al Golden in a likely attempt to kick Johnson on his way out) amassed just one touchdown on 119 rushing yards last season with the ‘Canes. He joins a Central Florida backfield that ranked 26th nationally in rushing offense in 2010.
