NCAA President Mark Emmert is hosting a Presidential Retreat August 9-10 in Indianapolis with more than 60 university presidents, athletic directors, faculty representatives and conference commissioners expected to attend.

Trust falls and character-building through improv will likely be on the menu. Also on the menu? Trying to figure out what to do about the fact that every good athletics program in the nation got there by cheating (or so it seems, anyway).
Emmert says the time for tweaks is over. It’s time to start bringing down the hammer of NCAA justice.
“We have reached a point where incremental change is not sufficient to meet these challenges. I want us to act more aggressively and in a more comprehensive way than we have in the past. A few new tweaks of the rules won’t get the job done.”
Also up for discussion will be the pay-for-play issue (Emmert doesn’t want to), penalty structures for rules violators and other topics.
