Senior Joe Bauserman and true freshman Braxton Miller have been battling to replace Terrelle Pryor as quarterback of the Ohio St. Buckeyes. New coach Luke Fickell announced this week that Bauserman "would probably take the first snap" in the team's opener against the Akron Zips.
Joe Bauserman Sort Of Named Ohio State Starting QB Over Braxton Miller
Ohio State mostly has a starting quarterback, with senior Joe Bauserman beating out youngster Braxton Miller for the time being.
Bauserman has gotten the majority of first-team snaps during offseason work. Miller will likely get plenty of chances to prove himself as well, as he’ll probably be set up to take over the starting job next year if he’s unable to steal it this time around.
Last year Bauserman appeared in 12 games, attempting 22 passes for 174 yards. He’s also popped up at various points in the previous two years.
Ohio State blog Along The Olentangy thinks Miller’s game was affected by only being able to showcase himself in practice settings, which don’t allow athletic quarterbacks to express themselves. Buckeyes fans think Miller has a chance to take the job once he’s able to play his game in live fire.
