Iowa State won the (very ugly) interim Cy-Hawk Trophy by defeating Iowa in triple overtime Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Cyclones, as Brett McMurphy reports, the Cy-Hawk Trophy has no master:

White took advantage, banging in a four-yard touchdown to close out a memorable game that never really should’ve gotten this far. The Cyclones ended up outgaining Iowa 472 to 363, but turned the ball over thrice.

First of all, yes, that version of the new Cy-Hawk Trophy has already been retired. The latest in a long line of bad Big Ten design decisions won’t bother you any further, but no word yet on if they’ll do the right thing and just award a high school wrestling singlet to the victor.
This is an interesting rivalry. Iowa fans hold one of the nation’s most intense big brother syndromes [NSFW language, or NSFNBHGP as it’s known around here], while ISU fans can’t be topped when it comes to pointing at the non-scoreboard scoreboard. So yeah, a rivalry.
