In recent history, there couldn’t be two more different teams than Auburn and Clemson. Frequently, Clemson is picked to do big things in the ACC and year after year, the Tigers of South Carolina fall short, declawed.
Auburn Vs. Clemson Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More
Clemson hosts No. 21 Auburn in the first nationally televised game of the day, trying to beat its SEC namesake for the first time since 1951. Auburn will try to build on its momentum from beating Mississippi State last week.
Auburn, on the other hand, is a classic overachiever. Picked to finish third in the SEC West, the Tigers of Alabama wound up winning the national championship on the strength of the arms and legs of the Heisman Trophy winner, Cam Newton.
This season, there are no Tigers predicted to make any BCS waves — except for LSU, of course — yet both teams are, as is the perennial case, talented, well coached and poised to beat most of the teams on their schedule.

However, No. 21 Auburn looks like the safe bet in this game. They beat then-No. 14 Mississippi State last week, and, let’s face it, who does Clemson ever beat? Oh, that’s right. Themselves.
Now, to be fair to Clemson, they look better on paper than Auburn, and they’re favored to win by four points. Auburn, however, hasn’t lost to Clemson since 1951, a streak of 14 games. They’ll be at home, and Auburn’s team this year might be its least-talented in years — and for years to come — so if Clemson’s going to get it’s first victory over Auburn in a half-century, this would be the year to do it in.
Game date, time: 12 pm ET, Saturday, Sept. 17
Location: Memorial Stadium, Clemson, S.C.
TV channel: ABC
