West Virginia Vs. Maryland Halftime Score: Mountaineers Rolling Early

The West Virginia Mountaineers are ranked 18th in the nation for a reason, apparently, as they have made Maryland Terrapins look nearly as awful as their jerseys through one half of play. The halftime score doesn't even make it look as bad as it could have been, either, as West Virginia leads just 27-10 after settling for a field goal on their final drive of the half.

Maryland actually started out just fine, taking a 3-0 lead to start the game on a Nick Ferrara field goal, but the Mountaineers countered that with a 24-0 run before Maryland scored its first touchdown with just a couple of minutes left in the second quarter.

West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith, which is decidedly not short for genocide, has completed 21 of his 28 first half passing attempts, but it's been the running game punching the ball across the goal line as both Andrew Buie and Vernard Roberts have run across the goal line in the first half of play.

A 37-yard interception return for Terance Garvin, on the receiving end of an errant Danny O'Brien pass, accounted for the Mountaineers other first-half touchdown. Maryland's lone non-field goal came when Kevin Dorsey caught an on-target 18-yard pass from O'Brien with 2:32 left in the first half.
