Washington Vs. Nebraska Score: Huskers Late Field Goal Results In Halftime Lead

The third matchup in the last year between the Washington Huskies and Nebraska Cornhuskers is more Holiday Bowl than Husky Stadium, with a tight battle underway in Lincoln. After a early spurt of scoring from both sides, the defenses settled in, slowing the pace down a bit as the half wore on.

Nebraska struck quickly, using just two plays and 34 seconds to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. But Washington answered the bell, striking back with an 80-yard drive to knot the score at seven.

All went quiet until a Nebraska field goal gave the Huskers a three-point advantage midway through the first quarter. After trading fruitless possessions, the Huskies found the end zone again, taking a 14-10 lead early in the second quarter on a Keith Price pass to Jermaine Kearse. The touchdown was Kearse's second on the day.

Nebraska added a touchdown of their own just over a minute later as Taylor Martinez found Aaron Green for the score as the Cornhuskers jumped back into the lead, 17-14. The teams traded field goals to end the half, with Nebraska kicking its as time expired to head into the break with a three-point lead, 20-17.
