At the half in Lincoln, Nebraska held a slim, 20-17 lead over the Washington Huskies and looked to be headed for a second-half dogfight. But in the span of a few minutes, Nebraska took complete control, scoring on a one-yard touchdown, recovering a fumble at the goal-line and punching it in to turn a three-point lead into a 17-point lead while putting the Huskies on their heels.

Nebraska scored 24 unanswered points to open the half, then hung on to survive a late Washington push in a 51-38 win. Washington piled on 21 points of their own in the final quarter, with Nebraska adding a touchdown for good measure to ensure the victory.
Keith Price passed for 274 yards and four touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions in the loss. Price was hobbled by two bad knees, sustaining some kind of right knee injury at the hands of the Huskers to go with an existing left knee injury. Taylor Martinez completed just 10 of 21 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 83 yards and a score.
