The Virginia Tech Hokies defense again took care of business against an overmatched opponent, limiting Arkansas State to 273 total yards in a 26-7 VT win. The Hokies are now averaging only 10 points allowed per game this season, with Marshall up next.
Virginia Tech Vs. Arkansas State Final Score: Hokies Thaw Out Red Wolves
VPI's defense accounted for as many scores as did Hugh Freeze's offense, in fact, posting a safety after Ryan Aplin gave the Red Wolves an early lead.
Arkansas State was able to keep the margin from getting out of hand by forcing Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas into a pair of interceptions. Otherwise, Thomas went 21-of-33 for 291 yards while running for 28. Danny Coale caught 128 of those yards, and David Thomas ran for 86.
Call me crazy, but I think this means Virginia Tech is better than Memphis, who Arkansas State crushed last week.
