Week 4 AP Rankings: Oklahoma Still No. 1, USC, Clemson, Michigan Join Top 25

The AP Poll for Week 4 have been released, and there are no surprises at the top, though there are changes. After beating former No. 5 Florida State, No. 1 Oklahoma solidified its lead on the top overall ranking. No. 2 LSU leapfrogged Alabama to move up a spot after going on the road and taking down former No. 25 Mississippi State in Starkville.

Florida State fell to 11th, and everyone else in the top 10 moved up a spot, though South Carolina fell from No. 10 to No. 12 after a close win over Navy. Last week’s No. 17 team, Michigan State dropped completely out of the rankings (they’re No. 26) after losing to Notre Dame.

The last five spots in the rankings are all newcomers, in order from No. 21 to No. 25: Clemson (which knocked No. 21 Auburn out of the poll and took it spot), Michigan, USC, Illinois, and Georgia Tech.
