Ohio St. Buckeyes running back Jaamal Berry had one hell of a Wednesday morning. According to a report in The Lantern, Ohio State's student paper, Berry got into some sort of a fight that police have termed misdemeanor assault. The report cites bruises on necks, teeth used as weapons, and a delirious Berry unable to remember how he wound up on the ground by himself. He was then admitted to and released from the Ohio State Medical Center.

It’s important to note no charges have been filed, but this is intense stuff:

At about 10:25 a.m., two males were witnessed “wrestling on the ground” in the South Oval, according to the police report. The primary witness is a university employee who declined to comment, but said in the police report that Berry was muttering things such as “I don’t know what is going on around me.”

Coach Luke Fickell told the Columbus Dispatch the program’s concern is for Berry’s health and not his legal status. If this same thing occurred on a field, you’d presume a concussion until told otherwise, wouldn’t you?

Berry has five touches for 19 yards this season.
