While the first weather delay for West Virginia’s game against Marshall might have felt interminable, it was just a three hour, three minute stop. The Mountaineers appear unaffected by the delay, scoring a touchdown on their first drive after the delay ended. But then another weather delay was called. This game may, in the end, become interminable if the game is not called.
West Virginia, Marshall Delayed Again By Weather
The Mountaineers defense forced a three-and-out on the Thundering Herd's offense. Quarterback Geno Smith and Vernard Roberts led the Mountaineers down the field for a 54-yard touchdown drive, capped by Roberts' one-yard run.
The Mountaineers lead, 34-13, but this game is unlikely to be called due to dangerous playing conditions. It is a rivalry game that Marshall does not want to concede. But both sides will need to come to some sort of agreement as this delay does not bode well for future play this evening. Could they continue this on Monday?
